Meat Loaf

Ingredients

2 lbs. ground meat
2 cups bread crumbs
1/3 cup Figaro Liquid Smoke (either Hickory or Mesquite)
1 egg
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium green pepper, chopped
1 T Crystal Hot Sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
Parsley as desired

Sauce:
½ cup ketchup
4 T brown sugar
4 t vinegar
2 t Figaro Liquid Smoke (either Hickory or Mesquite)

Directions

Mix ground meat, chopped onions, green pepper, parsley, salt, pepper and Crystal Hot Sauce. Mix egg, Figaro Liquid Smoke and bread crumbs into the meat mixture. Place in well-greased 9”x5” baking pan forming a loaf. Brush with Figaro Liquid Smoke. Place in 350 degree preheated oven and bake until browned (about 45 minutes). Drain excess fat, pour half the sauce over loaf, and return to oven for 15 more minutes. Remove from oven and let rest before unmolding from pan. Slice meat loaf, lay slices shingle-style on serving platter, and garnish with remaining sauce and parsley.

Sauce: Mix all ingredients in small sauce pan, simmer briefly, then serve.
